About Me

One of the island's few young winegrowers

I work small plots all across Lanzarote by hand and make each of these landscapes into wine with as little intervention as possible. That way, every wine faithfully reflects the origin and the character of each vintage.

History

Six years of eruptions. A new way to farm.

Vines in the mist, in a volcanic landscape shrouded in fog

For centuries

For centuries, the farmers of Lanzarote learned to cultivate one of the most extreme landscapes on Earth.

1730–1736

The eruptions from 1730 to 1736 buried the fields, and rather than abandon them, winegrowers found a new way to farm.

Today

This project was born to carry on that legacy, making wines that speak of the place they come from.

The Landscape

Over 300 volcanoes

Our landscapes are shaped by the black volcanic ash left behind by the eruptions. It helps hold what little rain falls and makes it possible to grow vines in an inhospitable landscape. The trade winds bring a mild, humid climate off the Atlantic, but their strength and constancy force us to build the stone walls that define the vineyard.

The Winery

A garage winery

It all starts with a hand harvest and careful selection of the grapes out in the plots. Fermentations happen naturally, at each wine's own pace, and time is one of our allies: every wine rests in tank or French oak barrel until it finds its moment.

Behind every bottle are hundreds of small decisions.

The Wines

Every bottle is born from a specific place

Each wine comes from a selection of plots with their own character. We work only with traditional Lanzarote grape varieties, with as little intervention as possible: spontaneous fermentations, patience and plenty of manual work, so the landscape can speak for itself.
